- The phone market is shaky, but expensive smartphones like iPhone 14 Pro Max still thrive.
- Apple’s iPhones lead the market, followed by Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra.
- Samsung aims to improve with new releases, while Apple plans to iPhone 15 series.
The phone market is a bit shaky these days. Not a lot of people are buying phones anymore, and phone sales are down for most brands. Yet, the more expensive smartphones seem to be doing pretty well because tech lovers are still buying them. The priciest one of them all, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, is leading the pack.
Despite the rocky phone market, Apple and Samsung are doing okay, all thanks to their high-end smartphones. A company called Canalys tells us that the sales of expensive smartphones grew a tiny bit, about 4.7% compared to last year. They also shared a list of the 15 most popular phones. As you might have guessed, iPhones are at the top. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is number one, followed by iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14, and iPhone 13. iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 12 also made it to the list, with iPhone SE 3rd gen also popping up.
Samsung’s phones also made it on the list. The Galaxy S23 Ultra came in at number five, making it the most-liked Android phone in the first three months of 2023. Other Samsung phones like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 FE also got spots on the list.
To be honest, none of this is a shock. Samsung has been having a hard time, and besides them, only Apple’s phones seem to be worth a look. I’m not saying that other brands don’t make good phones, just that Apple seems to be a step ahead.
Let’s hope Samsung can get back on track. They might have a chance with their new folding phones and tablets coming out in July. There’s also a new Galaxy S23 FE phone that’s rumored to come out later this year. Apple isn’t staying behind either; they’re also planning to launch the new iPhone 15 series. There are plenty of exciting phones on the way, so stay tuned!
