Sneak Peak of Google’s Latest Update of Android Photos App

- Google Photos for Android to get two new features: Video Unblur and Video Overlay Effect.
- The video Overlay Effect includes 14 different effects, but no release date has been announced.
- No information is available on when Video Unblur will be released.
Google’s Android Photos App has a lot to cover. Many of its features are still not known to this date. One such feature was recently discovered. The Googles Android Photo App is getting a brand new feature, “Video Unblur.”
Android research team 9to5 Google discovered this feature recently. As it is still an unreleased feature, so they had to tweak some of the code to work. But knowing Google, it’s very likely they will shuffle the code.
The latest Google flagship, Pixel 7, still doesn’t have this feature. So it’s unsure whether this feature will be available with new patches.

Pixel 8 is currently rumored to have this feature available. The judging factor for this prediction is how Google has released its past features.
One such feature was “Photo Unblur.” Photo Unblur had a lot of hype when it came out. Google marketed it heavily, and it was definitely a huge hit.

That doesn’t mean Photo Blur didn’t have its problems. One such problem was the downgrading of the quality of the image when using the photo unblur feature. The image was smoothened to a degree where it looked unnatural and ugly.
Let’s see what Google has stored for us in its new Android Photos update features.
Video Overlay Effect:
Video Overlay Effect is a new tool that was discovered in the Google Photos update. Just like Video Blur, it was still not usable.

14 total video overlay effects were found. Some of them were easily understandable. Like B&W, which can change the video into Monochromatic Colors.
- After School
- B&W
- Chromatic
- Forward
- Glassy
- Golden
- Moire
- Multiply
- Polaroid
- Rainbow Rays
- Reflect
- RGB Pulse
- Super 8
- VHS
In summary, we can say that Google is releasing two brand new features for its Android Photos Application. Video Unblur and Video Overlay Effect both sound and look cool and would be a great addition to already a beloved app. Although unaware of whether the features would be out in either Google Pixel 7 or Google Pixel 8, still the addition of these two features is good enough.
