After launching a bunch of budget and mid-budget smartphones in India Motorola is all set to launch its first flagship smartphone in the country on 23 May 2023 named Motorola Edge 40.
The company has already set up its official page on Flipkart ahead of the launch which also shows the key specifications and design of the phone. Although the Flipkart listing shows a green variant with a faux leather-like cover the company will also offer two more variants black and blue.

Introducing the Motorola Edge 40, the latest smartphone from Motorola. This sleek device comes with exciting features and upgrades to enhance your mobile experience. The official poster reveals a curved display with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, providing a modern and stylish design. The 6.5-inch poled panel offers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and HDR10+ support, ensuring a visually stunning display.

Powering the Motorola Edge 40 is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 SoC, making it the first Motorola smartphone to include this chipset. The device offers ample storage with up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and efficient performance.
The camera capabilities of the Edge 40 are impressive. On the back, you’ll find a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), ensuring stable videos and photos. Additionally, there is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera that can also function as a macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the phone boasts a 32-megapixel front camera sensor.
To keep you powered throughout the day, the Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 4,440mAh battery. It supports 68W wired charging for quick top-ups and also includes 15W fast charging, a feature not commonly found in many Android phones.
Motorola prioritizes a clean Android user interface, and the Edge 40 ships with Android 13, offering the latest productivity and privacy features. The phone is also expected to receive an update to Android 14 in the future.
While the exact pricing details have not been revealed, based on the specifications, we can anticipate the Motorola Edge 40 to cost around Rs 45,000. For reference, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion starts at Rs 39,999, while the Edge 30 Ultra is priced at Rs 49,999.
