Samsung has gained a reputation for producing top-notch Android smartwatches, and the 2022 Galaxy Watch 5 series was no exception. The company focused on refining the design, improving battery life, and making internal enhancements. While they introduced the rugged Galaxy Watch 5 Pro to expand their lineup, fans eagerly awaited a successor to the beloved Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with its iconic rotating bezel. Speculation has been circulating that Samsung might bring back the circular dial with the rumored Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, set to debut in 2023. Recently leaked renders, courtesy of reliable sources such as @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, provide a glimpse into the potential design.

According to the leaked renders, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic bears a striking resemblance to its predecessor, the Watch 4 Classic, boasting a brushed metal body. Its circular display is surrounded by substantial bezels, and the Home and Back buttons are conveniently located on the right side of the chassis. The smartwatch is shown with a D-Buckle Sport Band, similar to the one offered with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

While it’s challenging to determine from the images whether the Watch 6 Classic will feature slightly slimmer bezels compared to the previous model, what’s certain is that the physical rotating dial will make a comeback. This intuitive feature allows users to navigate through menus and lists effortlessly. Additionally, the rotating bezel can be used to cycle through Wear OS tiles and notifications on the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic might sport a larger 1.47-inch circular display with a slight resolution boost. Under the hood, it could house the Exynos W980 chipset, rumored to offer about 10% more speed than the W920 SoC found in the Galaxy Watch 5. With the Classic model returning to Samsung’s smartwatch lineup, the company might forgo releasing a successor to the Watch 5 Pro this year.
The anticipated launch of the Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to coincide with Samsung’s unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 lineup at an Unpacked event in Q3 2023. While Samsung traditionally holds its Unpacked events in August, speculation suggests the company might move the timeline forward by a few weeks, possibly to July this year.
