The new foldable could shave almost a millimeter off of its thickness, with a leak revealing the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 as per Android Central. Galaxy Z Fold 5 will measure 13.4mm thick when folded, 0.8mm more than the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s 14.2mm, suggests the leaks.
Samsung’s rumored waterdrop hinge suggests that it may be the first Samsung device that can fold completely. This brings Google and Samsung directly in competition as Google’s Pixel Fold also features a hinge that makes both halves fold and completely flat.
Google launched its first foldable device the Pixel Fold at Google I/O 2023 on May 10 data price of Samsung’s previous generation Galaxy Z Fold — was $1,799. It seems like Google wants to directly compete with Samsung in foldable devices. We hope this competition brings more quality in the foldable device which will eventually be a win for consumers.
